Easy Recipes from Scratch is a cookbook series featuring healthy recipes that can easily be made at home from scratch. It is published by the mother/daughter team of Marie and Nicole at Two Green Onions Studios, Inc.
Our goal is to use as many natural, home-cooked ingredients as we can for maximum health benefits. Not only is food made from scratch much healthier–since we can control exactly what goes into it– but homemade cooking has an energy or spirit to it, imparted by the love and attention of the cook, that can never be bottled or packaged in a manufacturing plant. Ever!
We use all natural ingredients that are affordable and can easily be found in the average supermarket, farmer’s market, or grown in your own backyard. We do not use canned soups, bottled dressings, or pre-made food in our recipes.
The cookbooks can be found in the Amazon Kindle store as e-books. (In the near future, we will print physical copies of our books.) Kindle books can be viewed on the Amazon Kindle or on the iPad, Android Tablets, PC, or Mac with the free Kindle reading app.
Our first cookbook in the series is called Special Dinners for Two. On February 4, 2012, it reached bestseller status on Amazon with a ranking of #4 in the Kindle store (that’s # 4 out of over 1 million books!). This book features 37 recipes that call for fresh, all-natural ingredients, and very little salt, to create easy and impressive dinners for special occasions.
Our second cookbook in the series is called Weeknight Dinners. This was just published on March 7, 2012. The goal of this book is to offer some healthy and delicious meal ideas for quick weeknight dinners. All of the recipes involve less than 30 minutes of active preparation. Quick, healthy meals from scratch.

Marie L’Esperance has been cooking fantastic meals for family and friends her entire life. In the early 70s, she studied gourmet cooking at a local cooking school. She also studied Chinese cooking under Stephen Yan, of “Wok with Yan” fame. Marie cooks for church events and women’s groups, and for years has been known as the talented woman who makes fantastic birthday cakes and special meals.
Marie has a talent for tasting a new dish, and then going home and making a delicious and simplified version of it. She is a very creative cook! Marie L’Esperance co-wrote the Amazon best-seller “Special Dinners for Two: Easy Recipes from Scratch” with her daughter Nicole L’Esperance. She is a co-author of the entire Easy Recipes from Scratch series.
Nicole L’Esperance loves to cook and eat well. Having grown up in British Columbia in the early 70s, Nicole developed what has become a life-long passion for good food. During that time, her mother, Marie, co-author of the “Easy Recipes from Scratch” series and an excellent cook, studied gourmet cooking. She was active in various “gourmet clubs” and a hostess for many progressive dinners. Nicole remembers being the only five-year-old with a taste for anchovies and Chicken Saltimbocca.
Nicole believes in eating good, healthy foods made from scratch — just the way her mother has always made them. That means no canned soups, preservatives, or artificial anything. Her mission is to share recipes that are delicious and easy to prepare. She can usually be found elbow-deep in her backyard vegetable garden with her four-year-old son. She loves cooking and surrounds herself with people who love food. Nicole’s mission is simple: Cook with love and eat well.
